Hans.
The murder trial of Hans Reiser (of ReiserFS fame) has been concluded, and he's been found guilty of first degree murder. This has been something of a celebrity trial for the SF Bay Area techie crowd.

I guess the "Geek Defense" (e.g. he's too smart and logical to understand that his "innocent" actions after Nina disappeared might make him look like he's covering up her murder) didn't work. Nor should it - I know plenty of geeky people who have varying degrees of sociability, but it's not like they're covering up for murder!

I thought the murder one verdict was bullshit. I think he probably did do it, but nothing there proves premeditation. He didn't buy the books until after the police came knocking, he didn't go to the daycare until the day after Nina was at his house, etc. There's lots of after-the-fact circumstantial evidence but the prosecution didn't introduce anything to show he arranged this beforehand.

I heard that part of the reason he was found guilty... said too much on the stand?

I've got mixed feelings about it, being that the evidence/testimony is all a bit off, but it really just doesn't surprise me in the least. It stinks of OJ.

C|Net had an article saying that it's possible NTFS will wind up on Linux.

I blame Microsoft. THey had to do something to eliminate the threat of the ReiserFS folks, and this was their eeeeevil plan. Nina really works up in Redmond, helping Gates come up with other nefarious solutions.

Next on the radar is XFS.
